Recipe Swap 2 - 18 May 2011

Light Oaks Infant School

Family Challenge (Connecting Classrooms Project)

Recipe Swap

Dear Parents / Carers,
Thank you for all your ideas for objects to place in our Culture Boxes. The boxes are now on their way to two schools in Xalapa, Veracruz. We can’t wait to receive our boxes from Mexico. Following on from this activity we are planning to swap recipes with the schools in Mexico so we now need to find some amazing recipes that represent our culture to send to our partner schools (starters, mains or desserts). Please can you send copies of your favourite recipes to school as soon as possible (by Monday 7th March at the latest). If we receive enough recipes we will be able to create a recipe book to send over to Mexico. We can also share your recipes and the recipes from Mexico with the whole school community. If there are any keen chefs or budding Jamie Olivers out there who would be willing to provide a cookery / tasting session one evening to make funds for school, please let us know!

Also -
If you have any experiences of another country or culture and you would be willing to come to school to talk to the children (classes or small groups) about your experiences, please complete the slip below and return it to school as soon as possible.

Regards,
Mrs. Chapman
