On behalf of everyone at Light Oaks Infant School, I should like to extend a very warm welcome to you and your family. We hope you enjoy your visit to our website and that the following pages give you an idea of what our school is like.

Light Oaks Infant School is a place where excellence combines with enjoyment and fun. Everyone is encouraged to develop and sustain a thirst for lifelong learning in our ever-changing world.

Our school offers a welcoming, secure and happy environment where children are encouraged to approach learning with confidence and enjoyment. They are helped to reach standards at the highest level of their capability, to value themselves and each other and to develop positive attitudes of thoughtfulness, caring and sharing. We encourage the children to initiate and lead their own learning and all our children are taught Philosophy and thinking skills.

The school grounds are large and have been extensively developed - the children love playing in the wild areas, on the tyre park and in the willow structures and lots of our teaching and learning takes place in our outdoor spaces, whatever the weather! We try to make Light Oaks a challenging and also exciting place to be where we all have as much fun and enjoyment as possible.
