Bereavement

We are so very sorry that you have been bereaved at this very difficult time. As a school we would like to do all that we can to support your family and encourage you to let us know if you have been impacted by a loss. Please alert the class teacher if your family require support.

How can we support you?

  • Identify a key person to be your point of contact.
  • Support you to talk to your child about loss and the mourning processes.
  • Send a letter or card to your child.
  • Let other members of the school community know who might be impacted or want to support your child or family, if this is your wish.
  • Make referrals to bereavement counselling.
The guide below has a lot of useful information about talking to, and supporting your bereaved child.
