The Friends of Light Oaks (PTA) is a group of friends, community members, parents and teachers from Light Oaks Infant School. Our aim is to fund-raise to help improve our children’s experience at school.

During the Covid 19 Pandemic, we were unable to meet as a group but we are starting to plan events together for enriching our children's experiences in school as well as working with parents and families and within the community.

We are always looking for volunteers to assist with events throughout the year. As most are run out of school hours, don’t think because you work you can’t be involved. Any contribution of time shall be valued and appreciated.

There are various ways you can support us…..why not help at a stall at our Christmas and Summer Fair or assist with the set up and clear up at an event, take a turn by serving parents and pupils or simply share some fundraising ideas….just bring some enthusiasm and enjoy being part of the team :) 

Examples of some successful PTA events include:

- Annual Summer and Christmas Fairs
- Auction of Promises

- School Discos

-Film night at school

-Silent auction

We meet formally three times per year, each term, and we meet informally when we are planning events such as our annual Christmas and Summer fairs.

If you want to join the PTA, or if you can't attend a PTA meeting then you can email the school email address and write 'PTA' in your subject of the email and we will discuss any ideas at our next meeting.
