World Book Day 2016 on Thursday 3rd March

This year World Book Day is on Thursday 3rd March to celebrate reading books, authors and illustrators. It is held in more than 100 countries around the world. A key aim is to give every child in the UK a book of their own to keep. Every child is eligible to receive a £1 World Book Day Token which can be exchanged for one of ten exclusive £1 World Book Day Books, or if you prefer, use it to get £1 off any full-priced book or audio book. Tokens must be redeemed by 27 March 2016.

Here’s what we will be doing on World Book Day on Thursday 3rd March 2016:

  • Big Book Swap: Each child may bring in an age appropriate book in good condition that they have read and enjoyed but are willing to part with, in return they can choose a book from the selection other children have donated.

  • We would like the children to come to school on that day dressed as a character from a story or a book they have read. Please be creative with what you already have at home rather than purchasing new costumes!

  • We will be sending a World Book Day token home with every child.

We are looking forward to a fun filled day!
