RE: Industrial Action – 14th October 2014: School will be open.
Dear Parents/Carers,
The local government services trade unions of UNISON, GMB and UNITE balloted their members asking whether they are prepared to take part in a strike in support of the 2014-15 pay claim. Results of the ballots were published in June.
These trade unions will be calling on their members in schools and local government to take industrial action through a day’s strike action on Tuesday 14th October 2014.
As staff within the school are members of these trade unions the school may have been affected by this industrial action.
We have undertaken a risk assessment of the school and the school will be open for all pupils on the proposed day of action as adequate arrangements can be made to ensure pupils’ safety and continuity of education.
As a result the kitchen will operate a reduced menu choice for this day. The choice will be chicken & vegetable curry (vegetable curry for vegetarian choice) or jacket potato.
