Maths

Today we're going to learn about repeated addition.

Repeated addition is when we add the same number over and over again. Eventually this will help us with learning multiplication!

2 + 2 + 2 + 2 =

How can we work this out? We need to count in twos. How many twos are there? Sometimes it helps to begin by touching each 2 as you count so that you don't lose track!

Have a look at the repeated addition activity below. Write down the repeated addition and record the answer.

In Year 2 the children have been used to a colour system during Maths lessons. The colours start from red and work upto blue and sometimes black level. The type of questions become more challenging as the children move through the colours. Start your child off on red level before moving through to black level if possible. If your child finds a colour level difficult, stop at that colour and continue to practise those before moving on any further.
